Putin has a new plan at the front: Expert reveals the dictator's target

The Russian army currently lacks the resources for a large-scale offensive.

Russian dictator Vladimir Putin may choose a different objective on the battlefield. The aggressor country's resources are already stretched thin, making it impossible for the occupiers to carry out their plan to seize a larger portion of Ukraine.

This was stated by military expert Pavlo Narozhny on air with "24 Kanal".

According to the expert, Russia has almost exhausted its artillery and tank supplies. Moreover, its industrial output is declining. While Russia still earns revenue from oil and gas, it is no longer capable of producing weapons at the same scale as, for example, six months ago.

Nevertheless, the Kremlin continues preparing for a summer campaign. Narozhny points to the daily increase in combat clashes as proof of this. Furthermore, Russian forces are concentrating their troops on the Donetsk front. It should be noted that about 22–25% of Donetsk region remains under the control of Ukraine’s Armed Forces, including the Sloviansk–Kramatorsk agglomeration.

“Russia will likely try to advance through Toretsk toward Kostyantynivka and capture Pokrovsk, and then move on to Sloviansk and Kramatorsk,” the expert said.

The main goal of this operation, Narozhny explains, is more propagandistic than military. Moscow seeks to showcase that Russia has "liberated" the entire Donetsk region.

However, he is convinced that the Russian occupiers will not succeed. Notably, they have been unable to capture Chasiv Yar for over a year — a city significantly smaller than Kostyantynivka, with a pre-war population of only 10–15 thousand.

According to the expert, this is why the idea of a “walk in the park” toward the Dnipropetrovsk region is unrealistic. Even if they manage to advance, it will take a very long time.

It is noted that the enemy is currently positioned at the border of Donetsk, Zaporizhzhia, and Dnipropetrovsk regions. The Russians are trying to break into Dnipropetrovsk region — only 5–6 kilometers remain. Thus, this boundary is not their final objective — they aim to push even farther.
