Putin Lied to Erdogan About Cessation of Active Combat Operation in Mariupol
The Russian President Vladimir Putin lied to Recep Tayyip Erdogan, the President of Turkey, about securing total control over Mariupol by Russian troops and cessation of active combat operations in the city.
During the telephone conversation with Putin, Mr. Erdogan raised the question about the current situation in Mariupol. When asked about the besieged city, the Russian President answered that Mariupol is “finally liberated” and that “all active combat operations there were ceased”.
The relevant statement was issued by Kremlin on April 26th.
The Russian dictator once again shared his sick fantasies about Ukrainian units holding defense at the besieged Azovstal plant and offered the Kyiv leadership to “order them to lay down the arms”.
Putin also added that the prisoners of war are allegedly “guaranteed their lives, access to medical care and decent treatment according to the provisions of international law”.
