"Putin’s Cook" Recruited Psychopathic Cannibal to Fight a War against Ukraine
Yevgeniy Prigozhyn, a Russian businessman close to Kremlin and unofficial leader of PMC “Wagner”, has already recruited 10 thousand prisoners to fight the war against Ukraine, including an infamous psychopathic cannibal.
According to Olga Romanova, the human right advocate and the Head of the Russia Behind Bars Foundation, the psychopath was serving his sentence in prison in city of Saratov.
The founder of PMC “Wagner” offers a ticket to the war against Ukraine to imprisoned criminals convicted for robbery, rape and murder, she claims.
"They accept criminals convicted under any article of the Criminal Code, however Prigozhyn openly admits that they prefer robbers and murderers. Wagner also eagerly welcomes in its ranks those convicted for assault and grievous bodily harm. Recently, they’ve started to recruit people convicted for rape, but they are assigned to a separate military unit. We know at least two stories from Saratov prisons. These prisons are a real nightmare, and one of them is a supermax security. From there, they recruited a psychopath, whose, so to say, “professional history” includes cannibalism. He also went to the war”, she said.
Romanova also noted that Prigozhyn recruited prisoners only from nine specific regions of Russia. Moreover, according to her, the convicts accept this offer not for the sake of money, but simply to get out of the prison.
"The most Nothern part is Komi, Syktyvkar. The most Southern part is Adygea, then its Tatarstan to the East, Pskov and Smolensk Regions to the West. For some reason, they don’t go anywhere farther to the East than Tatarstan”, she added.
