Putin's entourage Can Still Remove Him from Power - MEP Kubilius
The European politician stressed that there must still be rational people in Russia who understand the inevitability of the country's collapse due to the actions of Vladimir Putin.
Russian dictator Vladimir Putin has put himself in a deadlock because of the military aggression against Ukraine, and now it is too difficult to predict the logic of his actions, as the Members of European Parliament, a Member of the Foreign Affairs Committee, former Prime Minister of Lithuania Andrius Kubilius said in an exclusive interview with TSN.ua, answering the question whether Putin in this war is ready to sacrifice up to 300 thousand Russian soldiers to win the war with Ukraine.
"Putin has backed himself into a corner, and now he looks like a half-crazy rat. So it's very hard to look for logic here as to how he will behave. However, if you look at other similar historical situations, usually someone from the entourage, from the elite, or military, or political circles, who retains the ability to think rationally in such times, understands that the country is already at a dead end, and is heading toward the abyss, and then they look for opportunities to change the situation, to remove the mad leader. All of this still can happen. I don't have a thermometer to measure the temperature among the political elite in the Kremlin, but I think that a few rational people may be still left in Russia, and they should understand that Putin has led Russia on a path towards the dead end. This is the tragedy for Russia," Kubilius explained.
