Russia Attacks Poland's Information Space Inciting Society and Spreading Lies about Ukrainians
Warsaw warns about dangerous discourse promoted by the Kremlin among Poles. Russian propaganda has launched another information attack against Poland, inciting Polish society against Ukraine and the Polish leadership, as Stanisław Żaryn, the Government Spokesman for Information Security in Poland, tweeted.
According to Żaryn, Kremlin has done its best in order to spark a public debate in Poland.
Thus, Russian propagandists are spread various messages claiming that allegedly "support of Ukraine affects everyday lives of Polish people". In addition, Russian propaganda attempts to convince Poles that they can overcome negative trends in Poland by "changing the Polish government's policy towards the Russian Federation and support of Ukraine".
"The Kremlin claims that the situation in Poland is constantly deteriorating and that the policy of the government supporting Ukraine is the one to blame. The Kremlin influences the internal situation in Poland spreading messages about difficult situation in the country and pessimistic prospects for the future. Information activities in this area are used to create a revolt against aid to Ukraine," Stanisław Żaryn said.
According to him, Russian mass media are also spreading fakes that Poles are allegedly becoming increasingly "disillusioned and annoyed by Ukrainian refugees demanding then to be expelled from the country", which is absolutely not the case.
"Economic threads have been actively utilized in recent weeks by Russia, which which is using information and economic pressure to destabilize cooperation between the West and Ukraine and to pressure the West into cessation of support for Ukraine," Żaryn emphasized.
