The situation on the Luhansk front remains stable and firmly under control. Despite enemy attempts to show rapid progress, the real line of contact has not changed significantly.
Ukrainian Joint Forces spokesman Viktor Trehubov said this in an interview on We-Ukraine.
The portion of the Luhansk region still held by Ukrainian forces has remained stable over a prolonged period. Trehubov stresses that no strategic territorial losses have been recorded, and the Ukrainian-held "slice" of the region has not shrunk.
"Russia controls most of Luhansk, this is no secret, and it has been the case for years. Ukrainians hold a small part, and that small part is not shrinking," Trehubov said.
Russian Defense Ministry fantasies and "classic delusion"
Commenting on recent Russian military claims of new gains in Luhansk region, he compared Moscow’s information tactics to destructive dependencies that distort reality.
"There are currently no significant movements or changes on the ground. Why Russians decided to announce something now, I do not know," the spokesman said.
Trehubov also highlighted the absurdity of Russian Ministry of Defense reports, which often contradict basic logic. He pointed to claims about destroyed Ukrainian equipment, the quantities of which in Russian reports have long exceeded all available resources in NATO countries combined.
"This is probably classic "delusion" from Russia’s Defense Ministry, similar to their statements about the "fourth capture of Kupiansk" or the amount of destroyed equipment that doesn’t exist in all NATO countries combined," Trehubov concluded.
