In Russia, they have again started talking about nuclear weapons to influence European countries.
This explanation was voiced by Director of the Defense Express Media and Consulting Company, Serhiy Zgurets, on the air of the Espresso TV channel.
"We see that the Russians have once again started brandishing the “nuclear card.” In fact, it began to be played a couple of weeks ago. When there was information in the foreign press that supposedly Russia has a sufficiently low threshold for the use of tactical nuclear weapons in response to threats. Foreign experts started to assess scenarios. But this was a certain information stuffing, which is traditionally used by Russia to influence European countries, indicating the possibility of nuclear weapon use," he said.
He believes that Russia's threats will affect politicians "with weak nerves, who will start talking in a panic about the fact that there is no need to go to any kind of escalation, that is, not to transfer weapons to Ukraine."
"It is noteworthy that against this backdrop, France's initiatives regarding the erasure of any conditional lines that Russia may draw regarding the possibility of NATO troops' presence on Ukrainian territory, albeit non-combatant but extremely important, demonstrate the readiness of European countries to raise the stakes in this game. This is an extremely important trend working in our favor. Putin will now indeed exploit arguments associated with nuclear weapons," Zgurets says.
