Russian occupying forces are concentrating their troops on Kinburn Spit to hold the strategic territory and prevent a possible Ukrainian river crossing by the Ukrainian Defense Forces.
During the national TV marathon, Spokesman for the Southern Defense Forces, Colonel Vladyslav Voloshyn, reported on the intensification of enemy actions in this area.
"According to our intelligence, they are likely amassing forces there to strengthen their defense. They are reinforcing fortifications, moving defensive weapons to prevent the Ukrainian Defense Forces from crossing the Dnieper River, landing on Tendra and Kinburn Spit, especially on Kinburn, and maintaining control over this Dnieper estuary and the Dnieper islands, where fierce battles are currently ongoing," the colonel explained.
Voloshyn also commented on the situation near the Antonivsky Bridge, which connects Kherson with the left bank of the Dnieper. He noted that the Russians are attempting to cross the river in small infantry groups, but large-scale crossing of the water obstacle is not currently observed.

"They are training... but these are small infantry groups, up to a platoon in size. They are also involving riverboats from their Dnieper flotilla in these exercises. They are trying, let's say, similar to actions on land in the steppe zone, carrying out assault operations with small infantry groups — roughly the same tactics they want to try in this river and island zone of the Dnieper," Voloshyn says.
