The Russian army is searching for ways to capture Pokrovsk in Donetsk region. It is likely that the occupiers may attempt to achieve this goal through the neighboring Dnipropetrovsk region.

Military expert Ivan Stupak stated this on the air of the "Espreso" TV channel.

According to him, there are two possible scenarios. The first is that Russian forces will continue advancing exclusively within Donetsk region to reach the city. The second scenario is more dangerous: the invaders will bypass Pokrovsk through Dnipropetrovsk region, simultaneously capturing settlements that will remain under their control.

"I don't think the enemy currently intends to move toward Pavlohrad, then to the city of Dnipro, and to the Dnipro River. I believe they lack the necessary resources and such a plan. However, bypassing Pokrovsk via Dnipropetrovsk region, putting it under pressure, and forcing our troops to withdraw is a viable option for Russia," the expert noted.

According to his forecast, in the coming weeks, Russian forces will advance toward the critical Pokrovsk–Pavlohrad highway. As of now, less than one kilometer remains from the settlement of Ocheretyne for them to cut off this road connection.
