Intense urban battles are ongoing in Toretsk and Chasiv Yar, where the difficulty lies in the Defense Forces of Ukraine struggling to track enemy positions.

This was reported by Spokesman for Operational-Tactical Group "Luhansk" Dmitro Zaporozhets, on the air of "We-Ukraine."

He notes that any combat operations in urbanized areas are exceptionally difficult. Both the Armed Forces of Ukraine and enemy troops face challenges in tracking each other's positions and movements.

"Urban battles are tough because just as the enemy struggles to track where our Defense Forces are, we also have difficulty spotting the enemy," he explained.

Zaporozhets adds that in cities with multi-story buildings, intense fighting occurs as both Ukrainian forces and the enemy may simultaneously occupy different floors of the same structures.

"The enemy is actively using territory-mining tactics, destroying basements or entire building entrances with tank mines. Additionally, various weapons are being employed, including drones, air-dropped munitions, and artillery. Fighting in urbanized areas is inherently difficult. That is why the situation in Chasiv Yar and Toretsk, where such battles are ongoing, remains highly challenging," Zaporozhets said.
