Russia may voluntarily withdraw its troops from Ukraine: expert named the only option
If democratic leaders come to power in the Russian government, they will have two reasons to de-occupy Ukraine without coercion. A gesture of goodwill with the withdrawal of Russian troops from all occupied territories of Ukraine, including Crimea, is only possible after Putin loses power in the Kremlin and is replaced by democratic leaders.
Military expert Oleh Zhdanov spoke about this in his video blog while answering a question.
According to him, after Putin is removed from power in one way or another, the new leadership of Russia will be interested in voluntarily withdrawing their troops from Ukraine. According to the expert, there are two reasons for this.
"One is to save the lives of servicemen in front of the domestic audience, and to say that we returned them to you alive and healthy, and the other is to get the sanctions lifted by the West in exchange for the complete withdrawal of all Russian troops from Ukraine," Zhdanov noted.
At the same time, he added that he has little faith in such a development of events, although such an option should not be completely ruled out.
"The probability is quite low. Yes, there is confusion there, the process has started, dissatisfaction is growing among the elites, even among Putin's entourage. The problem is not even to remove Putin from power, the problem is that no one wants to take responsibility," explained Zhdanov.
