Russia is not only intensifying its terror of Kherson with drones and artillery, but also preparing an operation that could trigger a major environmental disaster in the Black Sea, affecting several EU countries. Secret documents obtained by Ukrainian intelligence, reported by “24 Kanal,” reveal the plan.

Sources say Russian troops are planning strikes on oil depots, chemical warehouses, and port facilities near the Dnipro delta. If executed, toxic substances could enter the Black Sea and spread to the shores of Romania, Bulgaria, and Türkiye.

Experts caution that even a small spill of oil or chemicals could wipe out fish stocks, poison algae, and leave the waters polluted for years. Ports could be crippled, shipping disrupted, and the fishing season ruined across the region.

Ukraine has alerted international partners to the threat. Kyiv insists: Russia seeks to engineer a crisis to shut down the “sea corridor” and intensify political pressure on Europe.

Global environmental organizations demand access for independent inspectors and warn that the consequences of a deliberate man-made accident would have catastrophic and lasting effects.
