Russian military seeks to identify weak points in Ukraine's defense in order to advance further and gain control over logistical routes and railway hubs.

This was reported on the FREEDOM TV channel by military analyst Oleksiy Hetman.

"Which directions can be somehow substantiated? The Kupiansk direction. The Kupiansk-Vuzlovy station and our logistics center are there. The Russians seek to control it. The Bakhmut direction: Chasiv Yar and Kostyantynivka, which is also a railway hub. They want to worsen our logistical capabilities by rail," Hetman explained.

According to him, railway connections play an important role for the Armed Forces of Ukraine. This is particularly because it allows for the transportation of a significantly larger volume of military cargo than by vehicles.

In the Tokmak direction, in the area of Robotyne, Russian troops try to dislodge the Armed Forces of Ukraine from their railway route, which runs through Volnovakha, Tokmak, Melitopol and Dzhankoy, the military analyst says.

"They want to push us away from Robotyne, and as far as possible from Tokmak, so that we don't have the opportunity to control the railway with artillery fire. All other directions... Avdiivka, of course. They fought for it for many years, because it's a dominant height, and from there it was possible to hit targets in the city of Donetsk with artillery fire. They simply want to capture the whole country," Oleksiy Hetman concluded.
