At least for the next two months, the Russian occupiers will be attacking along the entire 1350-km front line. This opinion was expressed by military expert, Reserve Colonel, and former spokesperson of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Vladyslav Selyeznyov, as reported by “Espresso”.
"I think, at least for the next two months, we will constantly face the fact that the enemy will be attacking along the entire 1350-km front line, trying to find some vulnerability in the Ukrainian system of defensive and protective structures," the expert says. Selyeznyov is confident that the Putin's army will do everything possible to present some “gift” to the dictator before his next “re-election”.
Therefore, he considers the challenges and risks for the Armed Forces of Ukraine to be serious, especially considering the intensification of hostilities, particularly on the Kupiansk-Lyman direction.
"I am talking not about the situation but about trends. Moreover, we see how turbulent processes are currently taking place in the Avdiivka area and south of it. And, of course, the enemy still dreams of being able to stabilize the situation on the southern flank of the Russian-Ukrainian front, especially in the area of Robotyne and on the left bank of the Dnipro river in Kherson region. The enemy has a lot of plans. But the key question is whether the enemy army has enough resources," the Reserve Colonel of the Armed Forces of Ukraine said. Russia spent $120 billion to support its army Seleznyov said that in 2024, Russia allocated approximately $120 billion for the Russian defense-industrial complex and for the support of its army, that is, the part involved in the war.
"Are the Ukrainian forces getting the same funding results? The answer is still up in the air," the expert ponders. He noted that Ukraine will receive 50 billion euros for the next four years from the EU, but not all of this money will be directed specifically to the military needs of the Ukrainian Defense Forces.
"So, we are waiting for news from overseas, but it is not yet known how quickly this decision will be made there. But the fact that the Ukrainian army here and now is facing a serious lack of everything that is needed on the battlefield is obvious. I think that it is not for nothing that General Zaluzhnyi, in his publication for CNN, details exactly what the Ukrainian army needs in the context of the fact that certain resource capabilities of our Western partners are exhausted. They will definitely not be able to provide all the needs of the Ukrainian Defense Forces at the level of 2023 or 2022." - Vladyslav Seleznyov concluded.
