Russian forces are making gains on the Zaporizhzhia front, according to reports from Ukraine’s Southern Defense Forces. The enemy has occupied several settlements, with the capture of Rivnopillia officially confirmed.
This was reported by DeepState.
Preliminary updates also indicate that the situation in the village of Solodke remains unclear, with the area possibly under partial or full Russian control.
Operational landscape and enemy objectives
Russian troops are currently reinforcing their infantry capabilities, exploiting identified «gaps and vulnerabilities» in Ukrainian defenses to push forward.
«Following the capture of Rivnopillia, a corridor opens for movement toward Hulyaipole from the north. However, the enemy may shift focus to broader objectives, as they currently lack the resources for a direct assault on Huliaipole, ” DeepState analysts say.
While a full-scale attack on Hulyaipole appears unlikely at this stage, analysts believe Russian forces may concentrate on advancing toward Varvarivka and disrupting logistics in Huliaipole. Intensified shelling of the city is also expected, aimed at weakening its defensive capacity.
«We’ll be monitoring increased activity near Marfopil, a route the enemy has repeatedly used in attempts to break through to the city, ” DeepState adds.

Strategic withdrawals and communication challenges
In response to the evolving battlefield, Ukraine’s Southern Defense Forces have opted to withdraw from several tactically unfavorable positions. DeepState describes this move as pragmatic, prioritizing the preservation of the most valuable asset — personnel.
At the same time, internal communication within the military leadership has come under scrutiny. DeepState reports discrepancies between the Southern Defense Forces and the Commander-in-Chief regarding the number of settlements lost.
«There’s still work to be done on internal coordination. The Southern Defense Forces report one figure, the Commander-in-Chief another, while the head of assault troops continues to „clear, storm, and liberate“ according to outdated protocols — a tone that feels misplaced in this context and risks undermining public trust, ” DeepState concluded.
