Russian Invaders are Expropriating Private Housing in Mariupol – Mayor’s Adviser
In Mariupol, the Russians have started the registration of private housing for the purpose of “legalization” of real estate expropriated by the invaders.
According to Petro Andriushchenko, the Adviser to the Mayor of Mariupol, the so-called “registrars” are working in the building of a local school.
"The Russians have started the registration of private housing in Mariupol. Their registrars are working in the building of the Secondary School № 9. The formal purpose is “determination of the damaged housing compensation size”. The actual purpose is physical inventory count and “legalization” of real estate expropriated by the invaders”, he reported.
According to Andriushchenko, in order to create the illusion of law and order, the invaders may adopt the procedure for recognition of expropriated property as abandoned, which had been successfully used in Russia-controlled Donetsk. Based on Andruishchenko’s data, the public and municipal real estate and Mariupol was already proclaimed to be the “property” of the invaders by “a separate paper signed by the separatist leader, Denis Pushilin”.
