Currently, the Russian occupying army lacks sufficient resources to “move in columns” towards Sumy and the region. However, the region is under constant Russian shelling.

This was stated by Advisor to the Head of the Presidential Office, Mykhailo Podoliak, in an interview with Report.

"Russia is very actively using guided aviation bombs there. Practically all border villages are destroyed. So, there are active combat operations, but on a much smaller scale, and they continue along the entire perimeter of the borders with Russia. Another question is whether Russia can accumulate a sufficient volume of military resources, meaning the same mobilized ones, to move in columns somewhere? No," he said.

According to the representative of the Presidential Office, the aggressor country currently lacks resources for such operations. However, in Russia, there are "resources for conducting intensive combat operations along the front line, where they are currently taking place."

"In Russia, there is also lack of ammunition, ballistic missiles, armored vehicles. They have a different level of training for the mobilized forces. This is not the level of special training that we saw at the beginning of the war. Russia is also forced, based on strategic goals, to choose priority directions for itself," Podolyak says.

The politician also notes that Ukraine needs large amounts of long-range weapons and missiles to significantly faster destroy the "points" of enemy military equipment, ammunition, including on the Russian border territories.
