Western companies, that are manufacturers of microchips used in Russian missiles, bypass sanctions against the Russian Federation and at the same time do not formally violate EU legislation.
Serhiy Kuzan, Head of the Ukrainian Center for Security and Cooperation, said this during a discussion at the Military Media Center.
According to him, the sanctions are not sufficiently effective because there are "loopholes" that allow them to be circumvented.
"For each such component, its own supply chain is required. And, of course, there are several intermediary firms through which only documents are processed, not the actual goods," said Serhiy Kuzan.
The analyst emphasized that in this way, the principles for which these restrictions were introduced are violated.
According to the expert's opinion, restrictions should be imposed not only on Russian companies but also on "third" countries that have not applied sanctions against Russia and are helping Russia bypass these sanctions.
