Putin aims to implement a "Georgian scenario" in Ukraine, said Viktor Shlinchak, Chairman of the Board at the Institute of World Policy, on the air of Kyiv 24.
Shlinchak suggests that this is the Kremlin leader’s fallback plan if he fails to conquer the entire territory of Ukraine by military means.
"We have seen many so-called peace initiatives that fail to grasp what Putin really wants. He wants to seize Ukraine entirely and irrevocably to turn it into a buffer zone. If this cannot be achieved militarily, he will attempt a political route, leveraging future elections to enact a "Georgia 2" scenario," the expert stated.
