People's Deputy, Secretary of the Parliamentary Committee on National Security, Defense and Intelligence Roman Kostenko believes that the enemy is conducting a kind of "reconnaissance by combat", attacking Ukraine daily with "Shaheds".

He spoke about this on Saturday, November 18, in a comment to "24 Kanal".

According to him, it is important for the Russian occupiers to know where various air defense systems are located on the territory of Ukraine in order to later plan massive missile strikes. That is why they attack with kamikaze drones almost every day.

“It is important for them to know where air defense systems are located, in order to later plan missile strikes. This is a kind of combat reconnaissance. Chillier weather has arrived, and attacks on the energy infrastructure may soon begin," Kostenko said.

Another goal of such attacks by the occupiers, according to him, is to deplete the missile reserves of Ukrainian air defense systems. To achieve this, they compel the use of expensive missiles to shoot down relatively cheap kamikaze drones. However, Ukrainian military forces are working on resolving this issue.

"From what I know, almost every regional city is trying to create special machine gun units to have the capability of shooting down aerial targets using large-caliber machine guns. They help relieve the burden on anti-aircraft missile systems," Kostenko noted.
