Ukrainians have been warned of a high likelihood of a new massive attack in the near future. The National Security and Defense Council has made a concerning prediction regarding Russia's stockpiles of drones and missiles.
What proves this, read in the exclusive story by TSN.ua.
This was specifically stated by Andriy Kovalенко, Head of the Center for Countering Disinformation at the NSDC. He emphasized that the enemy does not want the war to end and is doing everything to prolong it.
"They are accumulating drones because they had a logistical setback due to successful strikes on the production and storage sites of components for the "Shaheds," hence the decrease in their numbers in the air. The Russians have accumulated a lot of missiles of various types, including Kh-101 and "Kalibr," as well as ballistic missiles for strikes," Kovalenko said.
A similar statement was made by Ivan Tymochko, the head of the Council of Reservists of the Ukrainian Ground Forces, in an interview with the "We–Ukraine" TV channel. He warned that there is a high probability that the Russian army could attempt missile strikes on Ukraine around New Year's and in the following days. Tymochko stressed that the occupiers like symbolism, as evidenced by the missile attack on Christmas, December 25.
"The enemy will assume that our air defense systems are relaxed during the holidays, and that we are morally less vigilant as, according to Russian calculations, people are communicating with their families and attending festive events. But this is a formal theory of the Russians – in reality, vigilance remains and will continue... Unfortunately, holidays will be dangerous for us."
Tymochko also mentioned a statement from Ukrainian intelligence that Russia had accumulated about 1,500 missiles. According to Oleksandr Musienko, Head of the Center for Military and Legal Studies, Russia still has enough missiles for two large-scale attacks after the missile attack on Christmas. Furthermore, the enemy continues to accumulate resources and has support from North Korea.
"I think they are preparing to launch one (massive attack - ed.) closer to New Year's. Or even on New Year's Eve. And the second one could be 7-10 days after New Year's."
Musienko commented to "RBC-Ukraine," noting that the enemy will use all their available resources. Then, the Russians might take a break and resume strikes at the end of January or early February. He also identified key signs that indicate the enemy's preparation for potential massive strikes.
"First, there is reconnaissance information. Second, signs related to aviation. That is, aircraft are moving along the line to Engels or vice versa. One can notice by the arrivals of planes carrying missiles."
Military expert Vladyslav Seleznyov also does not rule out the possibility of a large-scale attack by the enemy, as Russia previously carried out attacks with "Shahed" drones and missiles during New Year's holidays.
"Undoubtedly, we must remain on high alert... But I don’t think we should focus on specific dates when assessing the enemy's actions. They act entirely rationally. They have identified targets on Ukrainian territory and are using the available resources. It is clear that they have the resources," he said.
