The Russians are using the "ambush" tactic with drones in the Toretsk area: how it works
Primarily, these are small group assaults, but there are also mechanized attacks and those involving aviation.
Toretsk destroyed by the Russians
The Russians continue their assault operations in the Toretsk area. They are using the "ambush" tactic with drones.
This was stated by Yevhen Alkhimov, a serviceman of the 28th Separate Mechanized Brigade.
How the tactic works
The occupiers land drones on the road where Ukrainian Armed Forces' vehicles are expected to pass, and at a distance of 30-50 meters, the drone lifts off and attacks. The enemy uses fiber-optic drones, against which EW systems are powerless.
"The countermeasure against such drones is firearms. That’s why we have additional shooters in our crews who are tasked with monitoring such drones," Alkhimov noted.
He adds that in this way, the Russians are trying to cut off logistics for the Ukrainian fighters.
