Mayor Ihor Terekhov revealed that the Russian occupying army uses new weapons for attacks on the city - projectiles with a larger radius of action. He said this in an interview with LIGA.net.

"Russia uses new weapons. On March 28, they also hit the outskirts of Kharkiv with the same type of projectile. They destroyed buildings in the private sector. The Russians haven't come closer to the city, but they use a new projectile with a larger radius of action," he note.

As Terekhov pointed out, the occupiers mainly shell Kharkiv from Belgorod and its region. They most often use "S-300" missiles from Belgorod region.

"These projectiles reach Kharkiv in 40 seconds. Now the Russians have started using "Shahed" drones more often. This wasn't the case before. There are hits on residential buildings, an oil depot. Our air defense can shoot something down. But, unfortunately, the drones still reach their targets." - he says.

The Mayor of Kharkiv emphasized the importance of closing the sky over the city. The primary task is to ensure the city can continue to function.

"This includes combating UAVs and anti-missile defense," Ihor Terekhov concluded.
