The USA will send artillery shells, that were intended for Ukraine, to Israel - mass media

The Pentagon plans to send tens of thousands of artillery shells, which were intended for Ukraine, to Israel from the American emergency stockpile several months ago.

This information was reported by "Axios", citing three Israeli officials familiar with the situation.

"The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) and the Israeli Ministry of Defense have informed their counterparts in the United States that they urgently need artillery shells to prepare for a ground operation in Gaza and a potential escalation of the war with Hezbollah (Lebanese Shia paramilitary Islamist organization and political party - ed.) along the Israeli-Lebanese border," Israeli officials said.

There is currently no mention of any delayed military supplies to Ukraine from the U.S. in the event of a prolonged conflict between Israel and HAMAS.

At the same time, the US military official did not provide detailed information about the specific weapons to be sent to Israel.

"We are engaged in comprehensive coordination within the Department of Defense. This includes working closely with our combatant commands to determine what munitions and equipment from American arsenals can be quickly provided for Israel's needs," a US military official said.
