The Russian occupiers concentrated about 12,000 troops in Belgorod. With this number, it's unlikely they will start an offensive towards Kharkiv.

This opinion was expressed by a military expert, Former Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces, Lieutenant General Ihor Romanenko, FREEDOM reports.

"Now the question is being raised regarding the grouping of the enemy's troops, located in Belgorod, that poses a threat to our troops, in particular the defense system of Kharkiv region.

However, in my view, it's not necessary to unequivocally state that all of this is aimed at Kharkiv. Considering the number of troops and forces the enemy has there, which is around 12,000, more or less, accomplishing tasks related to Kharkiv seems unlikely. One can do anything, but it's unlikely to achieve serious results," Romanenko reflects.

According to him, there is currently a regrouping of enemy forces along the Kupiansk direction. The Russians aim to capture Kupiansk because it's an important logistical hub.

"There's undoubtedly an intensification along the Kupiansk direction. They are regrouping there. However, this primarily concerns the battle for Kupiansk as a hub, which, of course, the Russians would like to capture. But many such invasion plans of the enemy have already been destroyed more than once, thanks to the actions of the Ukrainian Defense Forces. And the issue regarding Kharkiv is not a priority at the current moment,” the expert said.
