The Russian war against Ukraine is destroying the rules, while Beijing aims to ensure that these rules are upheld.

Ukraine's Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba visited China, where he met with Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi to discuss pathways to achieving a just peace.
The results of the meeting were commented on by Advisor to the Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine, Mykhailo Podolyak, in an interview with "24 Kanal."
"As a global player, China shows a readiness to listen not only to the Russian side but also to Ukraine and to understand why it is impossible to move to diplomatic resolution in this war at the present time, which, by the way, is what China insists on. Kuleba demonstrated that Ukraine does not want war and is ready for a negotiation process under fair conditions that would lead to sustainable peace. However, despite all its declarations, Russia is only ready for war, escalation and expansion," Podolyak said.
He added that this is precisely what the Foreign Minister explained in China.
"Abstractly conducting a negotiation process does not mean that you will reach some agreement and achieve sustainable peace and agreements that the aggressor country will adhere to," Podolyak stated.
The advisor emphasized that the Ukrainian Foreign Minister's visit to China is extremely important, as the construction of the global world order is currently undergoing changes in a political sense.
"There is an undeniable global leader - the United States, and for the European continent, it's the European Union," Podolyak said.
China is interested in developing relations with Europe, of which Ukraine is a part. It is advantageous for Beijing to have closer ties with the European Union, so it is important to fully understand the nature of the war in Ukraine.
"Today, China is acting as a global player, unlike in the past, when that role was played by Russia, which is now an outsider country," the Advisor to the Head of the Office of the President noted.
According to him, China needs to rethink all of this, which can be done through direct communication with Ukraine and the leaders of European countries.
