Ukraine's ban on direct negotiations with Russian president Volodymyr Putin remains in effect.
This was stated by Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha in an interview with "European Pravda."
The head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs reported that the decision of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine, which prohibits direct negotiations with Putin, is still in force.
"Yes, this decision is still in effect," Sybiha responded to a journalist's question.
When asked about potential initiatives by elected U.S. President Donald Trump regarding ending the war and the possibility of raising the issue of direct negotiations with the Russian authorities, the minister emphasizes that Ukraine's position remains firm.
He responded to a follow-up question regarding how firm this position is: "As of today, this decision of the NSDC is in effect."
