German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius visited Kyiv. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy discussed with him the development of a comprehensive air defense shield, particularly the new air defense systems needed for Ukrainian cities, as well as financial support.
The President shared this information on January 14 in his evening address to the Ukrainian people.
"Today, the German Defense Minister was in Kyiv: we talked about air defense, about the new systems needed for our cities, as well as financial support. Germany is one of the leaders in assisting Ukraine, and in the overall support from all countries, Germany accounts for 16%. That's very significant. I thanked them for this and pointed out that there is a direct correlation between the level of support and what we can achieve both on the battlefield and in protecting lives in the rear," Zelenskyy said.
