On the morning of January 15, the Russian army launched a massive missile strike on Ukraine. Moscow's target was the country's energy infrastructure.

This was stated by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.

"Gas infrastructure and energy facilities that ensure the normal life of people were among the targets. More than 40 missiles were involved in this strike, including ballistic ones. At least 30 were destroyed. There were also over 70 Russian strike drones overnight. Thanks to our air defense, and all involved units, we are maintaining the operation of our energy system," the Head of State said.

The President stressed the need to strengthen Ukraine's existing air defense capabilities.

"Partners at the NATO summit in Washington and in the "Ramstein" format made promises that have not yet been fully implemented. We talked about licenses for the production of air defense systems and anti-missile systems, which could become one of the effective guarantees of security for Ukraine, and this is also realistic and needs to be done. Right now, Ukraine's defense is determining whether Europe and the democratic world in general can stop wars reliably and for a long time," Zelenskyy stressed.
