Ukraine’s reconstruction must be based on green principles – Hrynchuk

This was reported by RBC-Ukraine, citing Minister of Environmental Protection and Natural Resources of Ukraine, Svitlana Hrynchuk.

According to her, the period of significant challenges and destruction can be utilized to build a new, more environmentally friendly economy.

"We have made a definitive decision to become a member of the European Union, so we must build our economy in line with EU standards. Reconstruction without green approaches will lose its purpose," she said.

The minister emphasized that Ukraine has substantial potential for reducing greenhouse gas emissions and adopting modern technologies in industries such as manufacturing, agriculture, and infrastructure. She noted that Ukrainian innovations, such as precision farming, eco-friendly packaging, and "green" paper production, are already being implemented both domestically and internationally.

Conference participants expressed their support for Ukraine, with international partners ready to assist in the country’s ecological recovery and sustainable development.

"Ukraine has immense potential to become a leader in implementing green technologies. We must seize this opportunity to build a better future," Hrynchuk concluded.
