Ukrainian Designers at London Fashion Week

Fashion is a power that allows us to put words, emotions and feelings into creativity. The collaboration between UFW and LFW is an opportunity to express and show all the words and emotions of Ukrainians during the war via collections of three Ukrainian designers.

According to designers, creating these collections is their opposition to the war. Nowadays creativity is more important than ever. Collections at LFW is a representation of the will of Ukrainian designers. They have admitted, that it was not easy to work without the electricity, lights and the sound of sirens, but it is a manifestation of the bright future. And they’re more than sure, that the next show will be held and presented in free Ukraine with its full complement.

These words and collections is the demonstration that Ukrainians are unbreakable and unstoppable. And even during such a difficult time as war they can create the masterpieces through pain. Among the audience Ukrainian flags, designers, colours and symbols has been spotted.  

"Clothes and outfits - is the thesis that each of us wearing and representing in life. That is why it’s needed to chose it carefully and put sense into it. It is needed to show the support for Ukraine in all possible ways, and with clothes and art as well, to demonstrate the will of freedom to the whole world." - said one of the guests of the show. Although there was no Ukrainian symbols in the collections, but at the end of the show designers proudly walked on the runway carrying the Ukrainian flag. Guests also noted that the opportunity for Ukrainian designers to show their collections in the runway of the LFW once again demonstrates that London has been, is and will be with us.

Iryna Danilevska, Co-Founder and Chairman of the Organizing Committee of Ukrainian Fashion Week, thanked designers, colleagues from London Fashion Week and the British Fashion Council for their support and shared a video of the final show.
