The defense of Toretsk in Donetsk region has been ongoing for nine months. However, it is likely that the Ukrainian forces will have to withdraw from the city.

This was stated by military analyst Bohdan Miroshnikov.

"Unfortunately, there is no good news from Toretsk. It seems there won’t be any. Yes, the battles in the city have lasted for 9 months, and the enemy has paid a huge price for advancing 8-9 km deep," he wrote.

According to him, the occupiers have not yet reached Kostiantynivka, which was their goal. However, "everything has its limit."

"Now, the capabilities of our Toretsk garrison are slowly approaching that limit. Toretsk is most likely going to be lost. The question is only how much we can preserve our defense potential for the future," the analyst emphasized.

Miroshnikov says that the geography of the area supports defense, but the enemy is strengthening and "will try to still accomplish their task and get closer to Kostiantynivka."

"The Kramatorsk-Sloviansk agglomeration is the enemy's main target in this war at the moment. Kostiantynivka, Siversk, Lyman, and Izium are important pieces of this puzzle," the military analyst added.
