What attitude towards Ukraine did the Trump administration bring to the White House: A sharp statement by Klimkin
Ukraine will have to forget about warm relations with the White House, as it was during Joe Biden's time. For this administration, Kyiv is not among the priorities.

After Donald Trump replaced Joe Biden in the presidential chair, communication with Ukraine at the White House stopped being equal and the country was no longer seen as an "important reality."
This opinion was expressed by former Minister of Foreign Affairs Pavlo Klimkin in an interview with LIGA.net.
"The whole world, and we Ukrainians, saw with our own eyes and very clearly that this American reality, firstly, does not perceive us as an equal partner. The previous administration didn't either, but they tried to show it more elegantly," Klimkin noted.
According to him, this attitude towards Ukraine from the Trump administration, viewing it as an "insignificant reality," is critical for our country.
"The previous administration considered Ukraine important, of course, for its own goals. Of course, not because they loved us very much, but they had some sympathy for us. It was a values-based story, at least partially a values-based story," the former minister added.
In Klimkin's opinion, the first thing Ukraine should realize is that for Americans, we are neither equal partners nor important subjects.
Currently, the Trump administration has three priorities:
Achieving a ceasefire in Ukraine;
Shifting all costs and risks to Europe;
Establishing a "new quality" of relations with the Kremlin.
