The challenge of destroying Russian factories that produce "Shaheds" lies in the combination of their distance, protection, and the massive size of these facilities.
This was explained by Chief of the Defence Intelligence of the Ministry of Defence of Ukraine, Kyrylo Budanov, in an interview with News.LIVE.
"The answer is obvious. First, the long distance from these objects. The second factor is the protection of these objects with powerful electronic warfare systems and air defense, as well as the need to break through the first line of defense along our front. The third factor is the large-scale nature of these sites. Their linear dimensions span kilometers. Do you understand that? And a drone is an aerial attack tool, if you want to call it that, which carries a rather limited payload. That means a drone is designed to strike specific targets, but we need to destroy vast areas. For that, missiles are required. Unfortunately, our missiles don’t have the range for that yet," he said.
Budanov said that Russia's main military plant is Alabuga, but did not disclose the exact number of products, noting that the figure is large.
