«Spider’s Web» operation, aimed at destroying Russian bomber aviation, is a slap in the face to Russian special services and a political signal to the entire world.

This opinion was expressed by military expert and co-chair of the «Prava Sprava» civic initiative, Dmytro Snehyrov, as reported by Espreso.

«This is a slap to the Russian special services, which have demonstrated to the whole world their inability to conduct counterintelligence and counter-sabotage measures on their own territory. Imagine, a truck drives up practically to an airfield, 20 drones launch an attack from it, and where: in the deep regions of the Russian Federation. The Russians probably relied on their „Russian maybe,“ but it didn’t work out. The „maybe“ was covered by a spider’s web, the web of the Security Service of Ukraine, hitting five airfields simultaneously. And note, once again, the Irkutsk region — who would have thought we’d reach there, ” he remarked.

According to the expert, this strike is primarily a political signal to the United States, showing that Ukrainians are ready to continue actively countering the Russians.

«The geography of successful operations by Ukraine’s intelligence community… has demonstrated the agency of the Ukrainian state in protecting its national interests. This is primarily a political signal. Not so much to the Russians as to the United States, where we have shown our readiness to continue actively countering the Russian occupiers. And, mind you, on the territory of the Russian Federation itself, we are not even talking about Taurus permits,» Dmytro Snehyrov concluded.
