Due to the potential Russian airstrikes, there is indeed a possibility of gas supply disruptions in cities and regions of Ukraine during the upcoming winter season of 2023-2024. Such a scenario cannot be ignored.
This opinion was expressed by Oleksiy Chernyshov, Chairman of the Board of “Naftogaz” of Ukraine, in an interview with “LB.ua.”
"Undoubtedly, as the heating season approaches, there is a higher likelihood of intensifying such attacks. We cannot rule out that massive strikes could lead to a “gas blackout”," Chernyshov noted.
The Chairman of the Board of “Naftogaz of Ukraine” reminded that similar incidents occurred last year. According to him, company employees had to repair equipment under shelling to provide gas to 200,000 subscribers in Donetsk region.
However, despite the risks, the company has prepared for the winter and will continue to supply natural gas to Ukrainians.
