Zelenskyi Explained Conditions of Ukraine’s Victory in the War: “Powerful Sanction Policy Will Be Much Helpful”

Support of the international partner would enable Ukraine to change the situation at the frontline, Volodymyr Zelenskyi, the President of Ukraine, said during his interview for Financial Times.

“Victory must be achieved on the battlefield. The situation on the battlefield should be strong and reliable, when we see our positions, we see the relevant combat equipment, and we see our powerful forces, which are not inferior to the Russian military hardware in quantitative terms. We are moving towards it”, Volodymyr Zelenskyi emphasized.

According to the President, any attempted offensive without sufficient quantities of equipment may result in high losses. Moreover, Ukraine needs abiding interest from the west and western support for Ukraine’s sovereignty. 

“There cannot be any talks behind Ukraine’s back anytime. The leaders of certain countries should abandon their expectations that we may weaken our positions. We have lost too many of our people to just give away a part of our territories. Although, the powerful sanction policy will be much helpful in order to bring Russia to the negotiating table without extreme ultimatum-like position on its part”, the President added.
