Today, October 6, marks two months since the Ukrainian Armed Forces launched an operation in Kursk region of Russia. This is an important stage of the war.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy made this statement in his evening briefing.

"This is a very important stage of the war. What has significantly helped and continues to help our country. Ukrainians have proven that they can push the war back into Russia. And with sufficient support from our partners, we will be able to pressure Russia in a way that makes them feel that the war brings them nothing," the Head of State said.

Zelenskyy thanked the Ukrainian military and noted that the operation in Kursk "has made one of the largest contributions to the exchange fund for the release of Ukrainians from captivity."

"This is important. We will push Russia even harder, because only through strength can we bring closer the peace," the President remarked.

Zelenskyy also mentioned that he sent Chief of the General Staff Anatoly Barhylevych and Deputy Prime Minister Olha Stefanishyna to Washington. Additionally, he received a report from Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Oleksandr Syrskyi, about the situation at the front, particularly in the Pokrovsk, Kurakhove and Lyman directions.
