The goal for everyone is to force Putin to end the hot phase of the war. To achieve this, security guarantees for Ukraine must be ensured.

This was stated by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy during the press conference "Ukraine. Year 2025."

"It will be difficult work, and it will take a long time," he noted when speaking about ways to end the active phase of the conflict.

According to Zelenskyy, it is important to have a clear understanding not only of the theoretical but also the practical aspects of security guarantees, particularly through membership in the European Union and the financing of the Ukrainian army.

"Right now, we understand that NATO membership is not yet a reality, although I am confident this issue will be discussed," the President said.

He also added that Europe must offer specific security guarantees, and the U.S. can assist with financing and other aspects.

Zelenskyy pointed out that after the Minsk agreements, controlling the border, which is over 1000 km long, became a serious issue that could not be resolved even with the help of video cameras and the OSCE.

"We need to start with an understanding of what Europe can offer and what the United States of America can provide," he concluded, emphasizing the importance of clear practical steps to achieve peace.
