President Volodymyr Zelenskyy emphasized that Ukraine has been able to restore the Black Sea's role as a secure artery, which is crucial for global food stability, and resume the operation of the "grain corridor" after Russia's withdrawal from the agreement.
The Head of the State made this statement on October 24 during the second parliamentary summit of the Crimean Platform.
"Without our agricultural exports, a price crisis in the food market and social chaos become a threat to dozens of nations from the western coast of Africa to Bangladesh, to Indonesia. This is a cornerstone - when Ukrainian food exports disappear, the entire global food market collapses. First, together with the UN and Turkey, we were able to launch the Black Sea “Grain Deal”, later added the humanitarian initiative "Grain from Ukraine". And when Russia decided to destroy this food security architecture as well, we launched new temporary export routes from our seaports in addition to our exports through the Danube port region and overland routes," the President emphasized.
Volodymyr Zelenskyy also added that since the start of operations for the new export corridor in the Black Sea, nearly 50 ships have entered for loading, with over 50 more scheduled to arrive.
