President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, speaking to the media, said that Russia was preparing a new wave of massive attacks on Ukraine.

According to Zelenskyy: «Russia is preparing a new wave, it will strike infrastructure, logistics and water supply. They want us to face problems specifically with water. Communities must focus on this challenge.»

Massive attacks on Ukraine: Russia’s likely targets

Military experts Oleksiy Hetman and Ivan Stupak told TSN.ua that Russia may shift its focus to water infrastructure as temperatures rise. They compared potential missile strikes on water systems to the massive attacks on Ukraine’s energy grid during severe winter frosts. Russia deliberately selects targets that can cause the greatest disruption depending on weather and seasonal conditions.

The experts believe that Russia is using the current lull to both stockpile weapons and conduct reconnaissance.

According to Oleksiy Hetman, Russia is amassing missiles and drones during the pause between large-scale assaults, potentially preparing to launch up to 100 missiles and several hundred «Shahed» drones.

«I think Russia is now accumulating missiles. Its army could strike with up to a hundred missiles and about 500 „Shaheds“. This attack may be no less powerful than the previous one, ” Hetman says.

He suggests the pause is mainly for stockpiling, not reconnaissance.

Ukraine war: where Russia may aim missiles next

Oleksiy Hetman says Russia’s next strikes could target sewage facilities, after President Volodymyr Zelenskyy warned of possible attacks on water supply.

According to him, the occupiers are likely to choose either a concentrated strike on one or two cities, or simultaneous attacks on several.

«They may launch five or six missiles at a single location, or more, ” Hetman said, analyzing previous large-scale Russian assaults on Ukraine.

He added that after significant warming, Russia could indeed focus its strikes on Ukrainian facilities that ensure the functioning of sewage systems.

«In this way, Russia will try to create a humanitarian catastrophe. For example, if there is no water, it can be delivered. But strikes on sewage facilities could even cause intestinal diseases, ” the analyst says.

Strikes on Ukraine will continue — what to expect in spring and summer

Military analyst and former SSU officer Ivan Stupak suggests that Russia is both stockpiling missiles and conducting reconnaissance of potential targets.

«Accumulation and reconnaissance are interconnected. Attacks will continue. Why against water supply facilities: in warm weather during summer, when there is no water, it becomes a matter of sanitation and infectious diseases. The consequences may be more serious than the lack of electricity. These consequences are not fantasy — we are dealing with Russians, ” Stupak said.

Iran factor in Russia’s war

Summing up, he expressed the view that recent events related to Iran will serve as a kind of litmus test.

«In the coming months it will become clear whether Russia depends on Iran in certain military matters. This period will show whether Russia is dependent or independent. Around May, conclusions can be drawn, ” Stupak said.
