President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy responded to the ballistic missile attack carried out by the aggressor state Russia on Sumy in the afternoon of April 13.

The Head of State reported this on his Telegram channel.

“A horrific strike by Russian ballistic missiles on Sumy. Enemy missiles hit an ordinary city street, ordinary life: buildings, educational institutions, cars on the street... And this on a day when people are going to churches: Palm Sunday, the Feast of the Entry of the Lord into Jerusalem,” the message reads.

According to preliminary data, dozens of civilians were killed and injured as a result of the cynical attack. He expressed condolences to the families and loved ones of the deceased.

A rescue operation is currently underway, and all necessary services are working at the scene.

“The world needs to respond harshly. The United States, Europe, everyone in the world who wants this war and the killings to end. Russia wants precisely this kind of terror and is prolonging this war. Without pressure on the aggressor, peace is impossible. Talk has never stopped ballistic missiles and aerial bombs. There must be an attitude toward Russia that a terrorist deserves. Thank you to everyone who stands with Ukraine and helps us protect lives,” he said.
