There are two paths to make Russia agree to end the war or at least a temporary ceasefire.
Volodymyr Ohryzko, former Minister of Foreign Affairs, diplomat, and head of the Center for Russian Studies, outlined these paths in an interview with «Glavred».
According to the diplomat, the first condition to compel Russia to a ceasefire is to inflict military defeats on the battlefield.
The second is to push Russia toward ending the war by imposing «terrifying and catastrophic sanctions» against it. Ohryzko believes there are no other options.
«Now Trump has once again come to Putin’s aid. The sanctions that Europeans promised to impose yesterday are being delayed again. If they are only postponed until May 15, that’s not too bad. But it’s another signal that Trump continues to help Putin in every way possible. Now that Putin has once again „brushed off“ Trump, let’s see where this leads, ” the former Foreign Minister speculates.
