MFA names condition for start of real peace talks

Ukraine’s Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha said no decisions «on the path to peace» can be made without Ukraine’s participation, and effective negotiations are possible only after a ceasefire.

He wrote this on the social network X.

He noted that the position of Ukraine and its partners is principled: «No one wants peace more than Ukrainians. No one wants peace more than Europeans.»

At the same time, he said, Russia seeks to continue the war, creates obstacles on the path to a just and lasting peace, and is trying to destroy Ukrainian freedom.

«The unity of transatlantic democracies is stronger than Russian imperialism, ” the minister said, adding that it is „thanks to joint transatlantic strength that we can achieve a worthy peace built on reliable security.“
