Russian president Vladimir Putin summed up the results of the "Easter Truce" he announced, and responded to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy’s proposal to extend the ceasefire for 30 days and halt attacks on civilian targets.

The Kremlin leader was quoted by Russian state propaganda outlets.

Putin cynically stated that hostilities resumed after the "Easter Truce," although in reality, they had never stopped. The Russian dictator also claimed that during the truce, there was a decrease in Ukraine’s combat activity, but that there were allegedly over 5,000 attacks.

Russian president said it was necessary to "look into" the proposal not to strike civilian targets. Moscow will analyze the proposals regarding a moratorium on strikes against civilian infrastructure and will provide a response.

Once again, Putin insisted that Russia had a positive attitude toward any peace initiatives and expected Kyiv to take the same approach.
