Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy outlined the key issues to be discussed during his upcoming meeting with US President Donald Trump.

This was reported by We–Ukraine.

Zelenskyy said security issues would be at the core of the upcoming talks, adding that Kyiv insists any agreements must include safeguards to prevent a repeat Russian attack.

“Security guarantees are very important to me. We want them to be absolutely clear, and it is important when we can have them,” the president said.

The Ukrainian leader said this position had already been coordinated with European partners. Ukraine’s main demand is the synchronisation of peace and security processes.

“Security guarantees must go hand in hand with ending the war, because we must be assured that Russia will not start its aggression again,” Zelenskyy explained.

He added that the sides would also hold detailed talks on specific timelines for implementing these steps.

The economic dimension will also be an important part of the talks. Zelenskyy said that frozen Russian assets alone would not be sufficient to fund the full reconstruction of Ukraine’s destroyed infrastructure.

“I think we will pay a lot of attention to the economy as well, because there is money in Russian assets, and it is not enough to rebuild Ukraine. It is a large amount, but still not enough,” the president said.

He also announced discussions on a number of sensitive issues that would require direct dialogue with the US leader.

“We will also discuss various sensitive points with the President of the United States. I think that as the conversation develops, will run smoothly,” Zelenskyy said.

He did not rule out holding additional consultations with European leaders after talks with Donald Trump to coordinate joint actions.
