Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said Russia’s willingness to end the war largely depends on the United States.
He said this in a post on Telegram following a call with NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte.
The Ukrainian president said he had briefed the NATO chief on meetings between Ukraine’s negotiating team and U.S. representatives and on preparations for a trilateral round of talks involving Ukraine, Russia and the United States.
“It is important that we sincerely want to end this war and are doing everything for that, and much depends on the United States as to whether Russia will be ready to end the war,” Zelenskyy wrote.
He stressed the need for real peace and security and thanked the NATO Secretary General for his support.
