Andriy Valeriyovych Matyukha: Philanthropy in action

Ukrainian society is increasingly demanding initiatives that truly change reality. One of the most striking examples is Andriy Valeriyovych Matyukha, an entrepreneur and philanthropist who, through his foundation, supports healthcare, culture, and long-term social projects. His approach is not just about giving help — it’s strategic thinking and a clear understanding of how positive change is built.

Life-saving support: Andriy Matyukha and modern surgery for children

In April, children's hospital Okhmatdyt received innovative surgical equipment — the Thompson system, which increases the precision of surgeries and reduces trauma. The equipment was delivered to the emergency surgery department thanks to the joint efforts of two charitable organizations, including the Andriy Matyukha Foundation.

“We want Ukrainian children to have access to the same level of healthcare as in the world's leading countries. And we are already taking action to make that happen,” said Andriy Valeriyovych Matyukha.

This system:

  • provides a wide view of the surgical area;

  • allows precise instrument fixation;

  • Minimizes tissue damage;

  • reduces surgery and anesthesia time;

  • improves workflow for medical staff.

According to doctors, the new equipment will help improve the quality of over 300 surgeries each year.

Symbols that unite: Andriy Matyukha Foundation and cultural diplomacy

A unique installation appeared on the facade of the Kyiv History Museum — 5,000 origami birds, created as part of the ORIGAMI for UKRAINE project. This cultural and charitable gesture carries deep meaning — it symbolizes support, hope, and solidarity during wartime.

The organizers are raising funds for new medical equipment for the Kyiv Rehabilitation Centre. One of the initiative’s key partners is Andriy Matyukha Foundation.

“Culture is no less important than equipment or money. Symbols inspire, and we want to be part of such projects,” commented Andriy Valeriyovych Matyukha.

Children from the Palace of Youth also joined the project, bringing sincerity and emotional depth. Their participation turned the installation into something more than just an art object — it became the voice of a young generation that believes in the future.

The installation not only became a vivid part of the urban space but also sparked a response in the cultural community. Artists, teachers, journalists, and even diplomats praised the initiative, emphasizing its role in strengthening Ukraine’s cultural diplomacy.

The composition also serves as a symbol of international partnership: Kyiv and Brussels have been sister cities since 2023, and the ORIGAMI for UKRAINE project continues this dialogue through art, cooperation, and shared humanity.

Vectors of the future: a strategy of action

The foundation established by Andriy Valeriyovych goes far beyond one-off campaigns. Today, it is already laying the groundwork for sustainable development in areas such as:

  • modernizing medical institutions;

  • supporting projects with a cultural and social message;

  • collaborating with other charitable initiatives;

  • launching long-term programs to support Ukrainians.

“Philanthropy shouldn't be a reaction — it must be a strategy. We don't just cover needs — we help build the future,” emphasized Andriy Valeriyovych Matyukha.

The foundation plans to scale up existing initiatives and develop new partnerships in healthcare and culture. Now is the moment when systematic support can transform the country.
