On September 8, a Russian missile struck a civilian neighborhood in Sumy, with no military facilities there. Dozens of houses were damaged, there are victims.

Head of the Sumy Regional Military Administration Volodymyr Artyukh spoke about this on the air of the telethon "United News".

Today, the enemy committed another crime against the civilian population. A cruise missile hit a civilian neighborhood. Houses were destroyed. Previously, 25 residential buildings were damaged and one was destroyed," Head of the Regional Military Administration stated.

He also stated that the emergency services worked very professionally. Emergency workers rescued two elderly people from the house that was directly hit by the missile.

"At 5:30 in the morning, people were still asleep. Our emergency services pulled them out from the rubble where a fire was taking place. They are alive, and they are receiving medical assistance," Artyukh clarified.
The head of the Regional Military Administration noted that today the Russian occupiers are carrying out systematic and deliberate "work" in the neighborhoods of Sumy where peaceful residents live. There are no military targets in those areas.
