The Ukrainian president hinted that militaries facing attacks by Iranian drones would not be able to defend themselves simply by receiving interceptor drones from Ukraine.

More than 10 countries have turned to Ukraine for help in protecting themselves from Iranian attack drones during the conflict in the Middle East, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said during a joint press conference with French President Emmanuel Macron on Friday, 13 March.
The Ukrainian leader said Ukraine could contribute to stabilizing the situation in the Middle East by providing protection against «Shahed» drone attacks. These are the same Iranian-made strike drones that Tehran supplied to Russia and trained Russian forces to use against Ukraine.
«Right now Ukraine has the greatest expertise in the world in countering „Shahed“ drones because of this war and these massive Russian attacks, ” Zelenskyy said.
But he stressed that that militaries, facing attacks by Iranian drones, cannot rely solely on receiving interceptor drones — they also need experience in using them.
«Our soldiers have that experience. There must be systematic work with radars and the entire air defense system, ” Zelenskyy added, suggesting that training by Ukrainian instructors would also be required.
